Set it up once. Then it's automatic.
Setup is one sitting. After that every new clip becomes a Short without you.
The three steps
Setup is one sitting. After it, every new clip is handled automatically.
- Early access
- opening in stages
- Your Twitch channel
- where the clips come from
- A YouTube channel
- where the Shorts go
Connect YouTube
Where's your cam?
How often should we post?
Your first Shorts are ready. Take a look.
Each step, in full
Sign in and connect YouTube
You do once: sign in with Twitch and connect your YouTube channel.
Toasty Clips only ever looks at clips from the Twitch channel you signed in with: the moments your viewers, or you, already clipped.
As soon as YouTube is connected we look for the 3 most-watched clips of your last 7 days and make them into preview Shorts. Once autopilot is on it checks your channel for new clips every two hours.
Confirm your cam box
You do once: drag the box onto your cam in a frame from one of your clips, and confirm it.
You choose your usual layout there: cam on top with the game below, or full-screen cam, one 9:16 crop that you position. The box you confirm is used for every new clip after it.
Only a box you confirmed is ever used to publish. Detection may suggest where your cam is; it never decides.
Check the previews, pick a pace, press Start
You do once: watch the preview Shorts, pick how many Shorts a day, press Start.
From then on each new clip is cut vertical, captioned from its own audio, given a title and a description, and uploaded to your YouTube channel as a public Short.
Posts are spaced through the day, by default between 9:00 and 23:00 in your time zone, up to the number you chose. You can change the hours in Settings.
Cropped automatically, the same way every time.
Never shrunk to fit, never black bars. This is the default layout, cam on top.
Your clip
A clip from your own channel, as it was streamed.
Two boxes
Your confirmed cam box, and the gameplay box.
Stacked
Cam fills the top 40%, gameplay the other 60%.
Captioned, posted
Captions from the clip's audio, a title, then YouTube.
Six layouts, one per Short
New clips use the layout you confirmed. Any one Short can take another, and you see it before you save.
- Cam on top
- The default. Your cam box fills the top 40% of the Short and the gameplay box the other 60%.
- Cam on bottom
- The same two boxes the other way round: the gameplay on top, your cam below it.
- Cam only
- One 9:16 crop around your cam, for reactions. Offered when your cam is big enough in the picture.
- Game only
- One 9:16 crop of the gameplay with no cam, for a clip where you are not on screen.
- Whole picture
- The whole wide picture in the middle, with a blurred copy of it above and below. Only when you choose it.
- Two cams
- The streamer you react to and you, side by side over the game. You place both cams on that clip.
- Every Short
- 1080 × 1920, full frame
- Cam on top
- 40 / 60, cam over gameplay
- Black bars
- Never. No black bars.
- The box
- Only one you confirmed
- Cam on topDefaultYour face, then the game
- Cam on bottomThe game first
- Cam onlyFor talking clips
- Game onlyAll gameplay
- Whole pictureBlurred edges, never black

A day on autopilot
Once you press Start, this happens every day without you.
When your layout changes
If your cam is not where you confirmed it (you moved it, switched scenes or turned it off), we don't guess. That clip is held, your page shows that a clip is waiting for your cam box, and nothing from it is posted until you set one. The new position is remembered next to the old one.
- Looks for new clips
- Every 2 hours
- Posting window
- 9:00–23:00, your time
- Shorts a day
- The number you chose
- Cam has moved
- Clip held, never guessed
Your page after Start
Everything is on your page. You only need it when something needs you.
- Home
- What posted today, what is in line, and anything that needs you. Pause and resume posting there.
- Clips
- Every clip and where it is. Open one to change its captions, trim, title or layout, skip it, or post it first.
- The Schedule
- Your week, slot by slot. Move a Short earlier or later, or skip it.
- The cam editor
- Where you set your cam box, and where a clip waits when your cam has moved. You place two cams there too.
- Older clips
- When nothing is new, your most-watched older clips can fill the gaps, from the last 7, 30 or 90 days or any time. New clips always post first.
- Add and confirm an address to hear when a clip waits for your cam box, when YouTube needs you to reconnect, and, if you want it, a weekly summary.
- Ask me first
- Turn on "Ask me before each Short posts" in Settings and each new Short waits for your OK.
The rules it runs by
The automation keeps every one of them, every time.
You control
- The layout and the crop
- You choose the layout of any Short, and nothing is published with a cam box you did not confirm.
- The pace
- How many Shorts a day, within your account's daily limit.
- The channel
- Shorts go to the YouTube channel you connected and nowhere else.
- The off switch
- Press Pause on your page and posting stops until you resume. Removing access in your Google account stops it too.
It never
- Uses someone else's clips
- Only clips from the Twitch channel you signed in with.
- Black bars
- Every Short fills the full 9:16 frame. No black bars: whole picture, when you choose it, fills the edges with a blur.
- Posts before you press Start
- You see your first Shorts first. Your page lists your clips and where each one is.
- Guesses where your cam is
- If your layout changed, the clip waits for you.
